They also have a sale on the Logitech mouse that can be set up for 3 devices. Costco has the Logitech MK825 for $44.99 which includes the keyboard for 3 devices and a mouse for 2 devices. I do love that it can be paired with additional devices though, and it works well. So now I have use Shift/Fn/Insert instead of just two keys, and I use that function a lot. I normally use Shift and the PrintScreen to choose the area, and I use that all the time. My biggest annoyance is the fact that there is no dedicated PrintScreen key, so I have to use the Fn key and the insert key for a whole screen capture. Yes, that is odd to have a Fn key on the left. I'd get beyond irritating with the left Fn key when trying to press the super key in LM 20.2 to occasionally find something or certain keyboard hotkey combos. Man.That left fn key is the only real dealbreaker for me besides not having cherry mx red or silent red key switches.( yeah.I know.for the price of 80 bucks I"m being stingy )

Thanks again for taking the time to reply! It's very strange that Logitech paired those two components together in a set, but the price is very affordable and I mainly want to use it with two computers anyway. I'll probably just go with the cheapest set MK825, which seems to have the same keyboard which can be used with three computers, but the mouse included in the set can only be used with two different devices. (I prefer rechargeable AA or AAA batteries.) But the mouse has to be plugged in to be recharged. I was going to buy the Logitech MK875 for $80 because I love the idea of being able to use the same keyboard and mouse for different computers with the press of a button. It looks like that is the same keyboard they use for all three combos - MK825, MK850 and MK875, and only the mouse of each set varies. I am glad to know the MK850 keyboard works. I stumbled across Solaar and plan to use it for pairing with the universal receivers. I know that the MK850 works, as that is the keyboard I'm using. There is a program called Solaar in the repos that does the some of the same things as the Logitech Options software. It looks like the Logitech Options software does not have a linux version, and I want to make sure it's not needed before I order it. I want to use a single wireless keyboard and mouse combo and just switch them between my computer and laptop. When I switched to an unused input (not currently connected to a powered computer) and back it didn’t always work right.Da Londo, do you have any problem setting up a second device with a second unifying receiver? (Assuming you have tried this and didn't just use the Bluetooth option.) I am trying to figure out if this set or the MK875 will work with three devices using Linux Mint. Note, in my testing I had to switch to an input that was active (i.e. It isn’t until you switch from some other computer to the MacBook that it realizes “oh, hey, I’m connected to a MacBook so I’ll switch to Mac mode” and make the CMD key combos work right.īut that’s just a guess on my part, the important thing is if you are having the same issue, just switch the keyboard input to a different computer then back to the MacBook via the 1, 2, 3 buttons and the CMD key combinations should start working. I’m guessing the K850 must power up in some default state in which it doesn’t realize it is in “Mac” mode.

Once the keyboard was connected to another machine, I could return to my MacBook and find that the CMD keys worked like they were supposed to. The fix turned out to be fairly simple, what I needed to do is switch the input to another computer (using the 1, 2, 3 buttons). I’d go to do something and find my often used command key combos (CMD+C, etc) would not work. This seemed to occur when I first powered up my MacBook. It has three buttons labeled 1, 2, and 3 that will switch the input to a different computer.

However, when I press those keys directly on my MacBook Pro they worked fine.įor those unfamiliar with it, the Logitech K850 will let you bluetooth connect to three different computers. Since upgrading to MacOS Monterrey I’ve had an issue where some of the basic command key combos, such as CMD+X, CMD+V, CMD+C, and more were not working from my Logitech K850 keyboard. Earlier this year I did a blog post, Working From Home – Permanently, in which I recommend using a good keyboard especially when you have multiple computers.
